Pilot Workshop: You're Too Nice with Jon Bander
Sunday, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm starting Aug 8, 2010
Cost: $10
If you find yourself denying your impulses or playing a canvas for your scene partner's idea, this workshop is for you. Politeness makes you a great person and a really bad improviser. Building a scene together requires two people. Students will learn to make strong choices and hold onto them so that both players are building the scene – and saving it. I promise. Prerequisite: Level One or equivalent experience.

Jon Bander is an actor and comedian in NYC. He has been doing comedy of all forms for the past 8 years. You can catch him performing at the Magnet Theater with improv house team Phooka or sketch trio BAM, or doing standup at various NYC venues. He was a creator and host of the variety show Her Majesty's Standup and was a cast member in such shows as The Necropolitans, The Wisdom Circle, Factory Factory and The Shandling. Jon has studied with many of the finest improv luminaries including Armando Diaz, Kevin Dorff, TJ Jagodowski, David Pasquesi, Joe Bill, Mick Napier and Susan Messing to name a few.

Instructor: Pilot Instructor

The Pilot Instructor is an advanced Magnet student or performer who has been selected to teach their original improv workshop.
